R Nunns & Clark Square Grand Piano
Over the many years that I have been involved with antique auctions. I have seen quite a few unusual and sometimes quite rare items. Normally my time didn't allow for much research of these items. However the square grand piano combination reed organ pictured above was the exception! Fascinated by the age and condition of this piano. I decided to find out as much as possible about this unique piece of early Americana. Questions still exist concerning the age and rarity of this unusual piano. Most early piano manufacturer's are no longer in business. Plus much of their piano information was destroyed or simply discarded over the years. Which makes it quite difficult to research a piano as old as this one was. Is this R Nunns & Clark square grand piano combination reed organ one of a kind? It's quite possible as I have only heard of one other and it was in too bad of condition to rebuild. Please note that I have received a couple emails concerning similar R Nunns & Clark square grand pianos. But none of those pianos featured the built in reed organ.
